Make these decadent Oreo Brownies for a rich, chewy, and fudgy chocolate dessert experience. This recipe features whole Oreos baked inside and a crushed Oreo topping for the perfect cookies and cream crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 18 whole Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Arrange 9 whole Oreo cookies evenly over the batter.
  7. Spoon the remaining batter over the Oreos, gently spreading to cover them. Place the remaining 9 whole Oreo cookies on top of the batter.
  8. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies evenly over the top layer.
  9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. The edges should look set, and a toothpick inserted near the center should come out with moist, fudgy crumbs attached, not wet batter.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment overhang.
  11. Cut into squares. Enjoy this rich chocolate dessert!

Notes

  • For the best fudgy texture and shiny top, do not overbake the brownies.
  • Cooling completely before slicing helps achieve clean, bakery-style brownies.
  • You can substitute the whole Oreos with broken pieces if you prefer more distribution throughout the batter.
  • This recipe is a fantastic easy dessert for parties.
