A classic holiday side dish with creamy mashed sweet potatoes and a crunchy pecan topping. Perfect for Thanksgiving or any festive meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp butter, cold

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Spread the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine pecans, flour, and cold butter to make the topping.
  5. Sprinkle the topping over the sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Make ahead: Prepare the casserole a day in advance and refrigerate. Bake before serving.
