Ingredients
Scale
1 (24 ounce) bag frozen, fully cooked small meatballs
1 (14 ounce) package cocktail sausages (smokies)
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
Instructions
Place the frozen meatballs and cocktail sausages into your slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the crushed pineapple (with its juice), chili sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and dry mustard powder until combined. This creates your sweet and sour sauce.
Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the meatballs and smokies in the slow cooker.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours. Stir gently about halfway through cooking time.
Serve warm directly from the slow cooker with toothpicks for easy serving. This is a great freezer friendly slow cooker meal if you make a double batch.
Notes
For a slightly tangier flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the brown sugar with honey.
If you want to serve this as Hawaiian style slow cooker food on skewers, allow the mixture to cool slightly before threading onto small wooden skewers.
This recipe is excellent for holiday appetizer meatballs or any gathering where you need easy finger foods.
