Make this incredibly simple, creamy One Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta. It delivers rich, satisfying flavor with minimal cleanup, making it the ultimate comfort dish for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound angel hair pasta or spaghetti
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, chicken broth, minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper into a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to simmer, stirring often, until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
  5. Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. The sauce will thicken as it cools slightly.
  6. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For added protein, stir in cooked shredded chicken or shrimp during the last step when adding the cheese.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let the pasta sit off the heat for an extra 5 minutes before serving.
  • This recipe is a great base; try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
