A rich, gooey butter cake with cream cheese, perfect for potlucks and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix cake mix, melted butter, and 2 eggs to form a dough. Press into the baking dish.
  3. Beat cream cheese, remaining eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the dough.
  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes until edges are golden and center is set.
  5. Cool before slicing.

  • For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free cake mix.
