Make this creamy, light, and airy whipped ricotta dip for your next party. It comes together fast and features a sweet and spicy hot honey topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese, drained if watery
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (or regular honey mixed with a pinch of red pepper flakes)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • Flaky sea salt, for finishing
  • Crusty bread, baguette slices, or vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the drained ricotta cheese, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper into a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until the ricotta is completely smooth, light, and airy. This creates the perfect whipped ricotta texture.
  3. Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl and spread it evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, gently stir together the hot honey and chopped fresh rosemary.
  5. Drizzle the hot honey and rosemary mixture evenly over the top of the whipped ricotta.
  6. Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt and an extra drizzle of olive oil.
  7. Serve immediately with toasted crostini or fresh vegetables. If you are interested in simplifying your weekly meals, look into the best meal delivery services for easy weeknight options.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can bake the ricotta instead of whipping it. Spread the ingredients (minus the honey topping) in a small oven-safe dish and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  • If you do not have a food processor, use a hand mixer or stand mixer with the whisk attachment and beat for 4-5 minutes until fluffy.
  • This dip is great for entertaining. You can prepare the whipped base a day ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator. Add the topping just before serving.
