Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles, drained
  • 1 cup pickled or fresh diced jalapeño peppers (adjust to your heat preference)
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, diced chiles, jalapeño peppers, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until everything is smooth and well combined.
  3. Stir in the crumbled bacon, if using. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.
  4. Spread the dip mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
  7. Let the dip cool for about 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a lower carb option, skip the crackers and serve this dip with celery sticks or bell pepper strips. This recipe is a great alternative to heavier options you might find with some meal delivery companies.
  • If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeños before dicing.
  • You can prepare the dip mixture up to a day ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator. Add the topping cheese just before baking.
  • If you are looking for quick weeknight ideas, consider how simple this appetizer is compared to complex meal planning.
