Assorted crackers, pretzels, or vegetable sticks for serving
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, blue cheese (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until completely smooth and well combined.
Cover the cheese mixture and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This makes shaping easier.
On a small plate, combine the chopped nuts and chopped parsley for the coating.
Remove the chilled cheese mixture from the refrigerator. Shape the mixture into a ball using your hands or a rubber spatula.
Roll the cheese ball in the nut and parsley mixture until it is evenly coated on all sides.
Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate. Cover loosely with plastic wrap.
Chill the cheese ball for at least 2 hours, or up to 2 days, before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.
Serve your homemade party dip cold with crackers and vegetables.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add 1/4 cup of finely chopped pickled jalapenos to the cheese mixture.
You can substitute the coating with crispy bacon bits or dried dill for a different flavor profile.
This is a great make-ahead appetizer; prepare it a day before your event.
If you want a Ranch Cheese Ball flavor, add 1 packet of dry ranch seasoning mix to the cheese base.
