Ingredients
Scale
2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes (steak bites)
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
Place the cubed steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Pour the liquid mixture over the steak cubes in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat.
Scatter the pieces of butter evenly over the top of the steak mixture. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the butter.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is fork-tender. Do not overcook to prevent drying.
Once cooked, remove the steak bites with a slotted spoon. If you want a thicker sauce, you can mix a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water) into the remaining liquid and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes until thickened.
Return the steak bites to the sauce, toss to coat, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
Notes
For a complete meal, add 1 pound of small red potatoes and 1 cup of sliced carrots to the slow cooker along with the steak.
