Make this rich and comforting creamy ground beef pasta in one pot for a fast, family-friendly weeknight dinner. It is pure comfort food ready quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 8 ounces dry pasta (like penne or rotini)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add the dry pasta to the boiling broth mixture. Stir well to prevent sticking.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a high protein beef pasta, use extra-lean ground beef or add a scoop of unflavored protein powder when stirring in the cream.
  • If you prefer a cheesier beef pasta, add 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese along with the Parmesan.
  • This recipe works well as a quick ground beef dinner, often ready in under 30 minutes.
