4 ounces imitation crab meat, finely chopped
2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
40 square wonton wrappers
1 large egg, beaten (for sealing)
Cooking spray or oil for brushing
For the Dipping Sauce: 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce recipe
Instructions
Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped imitation crab meat, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until completely smooth and well combined.
Assemble the bombs: Lay a wonton wrapper flat on your work surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center of the wrapper.
Moisten the edges of the wrapper lightly with the beaten egg using your finger or a pastry brush.
Bring the four corners of the wrapper up to meet in the center, pinching the edges together firmly to seal, creating a small pouch or ball shape. Press out any air pockets before sealing completely. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the crab rangoon bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Spray or brush the tops generously with cooking spray or oil to help them crisp up.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy. This is a great baked crab rangoon alternative to deep fried crab appetizers.
While baking, prepare your sweet chili sauce if making from scratch.
Serve the hot crab rangoon bombs immediately with the sweet chili dipping sauce.
