Bake this incredibly soft and fluffy sweetened condensed milk bread. It is an easy yeast bread recipe that yields a buttery, slightly sweet loaf perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110F)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm milk, sweetened condensed milk, egg, and melted butter in a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer. Whisk briefly to combine.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the bread flour, salt, yeast, and optional sugar.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed with a dough hook until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Increase the mixer speed to medium-low and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. It should pass the windowpane test.
  5. Lightly grease a large bowl. Place the dough in the bowl, turning to coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel.
  6. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size. This creates that cloud soft texture.
  7. Gently punch down the risen dough. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a log.
  8. Place the dough into a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  9. Cover the pan loosely and let the dough rise again in a warm spot for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the dough has crowned about 1 inch over the rim of the pan.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C) during the last 15 minutes of the second rise.
  11. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 200F (93C).
  12. Remove the bread from the pan immediately after baking and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy this tender crumb bread recipe!
