Soft and chewy bakery-style cookies made with pantry staples for a kid-friendly treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (plus 1 extra yolk)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, extra yolk, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 9-11 minutes.
  9. Cool on wire racks.
