Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (optional, for high protein)
1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess)
Combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, cocoa powder, protein powder (if using), maple syrup, milk, Greek yogurt (if using), vanilla extract, and salt in a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.
Stir or shake the mixture well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and there are no dry clumps of cocoa powder or oats.
Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator. Let the mixture soak for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight.
In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk until you reach your desired creamy texture.
Add your favorite toppings, like a swirl of peanut butter or fresh fruit, and enjoy this indulgent breakfast immediately.
Notes
For a true brownie batter texture, blend all ingredients (except toppings) in a blender before chilling.
If you skip the Greek yogurt, you may need slightly less milk to achieve a thick consistency.
This recipe is excellent for meal prep; make 3-4 jars at once for quick breakfasts all week.
