Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
Stir the taco seasoning and 1 cup of water into the ground beef. Cook according to seasoning packet directions, usually about 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, and 1.5 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well.
Spread half of the crushed Doritos into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Pour the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the chips.
Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the mixture.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly.
Remove from the oven and immediately top with the remaining crushed Doritos.
Bake for an additional 5 minutes to warm the top layer of chips. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving this easy family dinner.
Notes
For extra flavor in your dorito bake, add a can of drained, sliced black olives to the meat mixture.
If you do not have cream of mushroom soup, you can substitute it with cream of celery soup.
This recipe is great for meal prepping; assemble it ahead of time and keep it covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
