Make this irresistible pull-apart garlic cheese bread for a gooey, savory side dish or appetizer. It is soft, cheesy, and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf (16 ounces) pre-made French or Italian bread
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and half of the chopped parsley. Mix until well combined to create the garlic butter spread.
  3. Slice the loaf of bread crosswise into 1-inch thick slices, cutting almost all the way through but leaving the bottom crust intact so the bread holds together.
  4. Gently spread the garlic butter mixture evenly between each slice of bread, making sure to get some butter down into the crevices.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses together. Generously stuff the shredded cheese mixture between the slices of bread.
  6. Wrap the entire loaf tightly in aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes while wrapped.
  8. Carefully unwrap the foil, exposing the top of the bread. Return the bread to the oven and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining fresh parsley, and serve immediately while warm for that perfect melty cheese pull.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can brush the top crust lightly with melted butter before the final unwrapped bake.
  • If you prefer a crispier exterior, bake uncovered for the last 10 minutes instead of 5 to 7 minutes.
  • This bread pairs wonderfully with pasta dishes or as a hearty appetizer for game day.
