This warm, cheesy baked appetizer replicates the best flavors of garlic bread in a creamy, shareable dip. It is perfect for game days, holidays, or any gathering where you need a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon roasted garlic paste)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Crusty bread or crackers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch oven-safe skillet or small baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 3/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until completely smooth and combined.
  3. Stir in the sour cream until the mixture is creamy.
  4. Spread the dip mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Top the dip evenly with the remaining 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot throughout and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve immediately with slices of warm, crusty bread or your favorite crackers.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, use roasted garlic instead of raw minced garlic.
  • You can prepare this dip mixture up to 24 hours ahead; just cover and refrigerate, then add 5-10 minutes to the baking time if baking straight from the fridge.
  • If you want to make this a stuffed bread bowl dip, hollow out a round loaf of sourdough or rye bread and bake the dip inside the bread shell.
