Make restaurant-style Bang Bang Salmon bites fast! These crispy salmon pieces get coated in a creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce. This recipe is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner or a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha (adjust for heat preference)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • For serving (optional): Cooked rice, sliced green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon: Toss the salmon cubes with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  2. Air fry the salmon: Place the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and slightly crispy.
  3. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While the salmon cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, and garlic powder in a small bowl until smooth. This is your creamy spicy salmon recipe sauce.
  4. Coat the salmon: Once the salmon is done, transfer the hot salmon bites to a clean bowl. Pour about two-thirds of the Bang Bang sauce over the salmon and gently toss until all the pieces are evenly coated.
  5. Serve immediately: Arrange the Bang Bang Salmon Bites on a platter for an appetizer, or serve over rice with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for a quick seafood dinner idea. Offer the remaining sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispy salmon bites, lightly dust the salmon cubes with a tablespoon of cornstarch before tossing with oil and seasoning.
  • If you prefer baking, arrange the salmon on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  • Adjust the Sriracha amount to control the spice level of your sweet chili salmon glaze.
