Make these incredibly easy baked ham and cheese croissants for a quick breakfast, satisfying brunch, or simple weeknight dinner. You get flaky pastry, savory ham, and gooey melted cheese in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or Gruyère
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Separate the dough into 8 triangles.
  3. If using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the wide end of each dough triangle.
  4. Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto the wide end of each dough triangle.
  5. Roll each triangle tightly from the wide end to the point. Place the rolled croissants seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the croissants lightly with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Let the croissants cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can substitute Gruyère with sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese.
  • If you want a richer flavor, brush the tops with melted butter instead of the egg wash before baking.
  • These are great for making ahead; assemble them, cover, and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking (add 2-3 minutes to the bake time).
