- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (for swirl)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture.
- Fold in diced apples.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
- Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle with half the swirl mix. Repeat.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze. Drizzle over cooled bread.
