Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large frozen shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on or off)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Take your frozen shrimp directly from the freezer. Do not thaw them first. Place the frozen shrimp in a medium bowl.
Drizzle the olive oil over the shrimp. Toss gently to coat them lightly.
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create your simple seasoning blend.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the oiled shrimp. Toss again until the shrimp are evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crispiness.
Air fry for 6 minutes.
Open the basket, shake the shrimp well, and continue to cook for another 4 to 6 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and slightly crispy on the edges. Total cook time is usually 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove immediately and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, like cocktail sauce or melted butter.
Notes
For extra flavor, toss the cooked shrimp with 1 teaspoon of melted butter and a pinch of garlic powder immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
If you want a Parmesan crust, toss the seasoned shrimp with 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
This method works well for quick weeknight dinners or as an easy frozen appetizer for game day.
