15-Minute Philly Cheese Steak

A quick and delicious copy-cat Philly cheese steak loaded with thin-sliced beef, onions, peppers, and your choice of provolone or Cheez Whiz. Perfect for a busy weeknight!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thin-sliced ribeye steak
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese or 1/2 cup Cheez Whiz
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions and peppers, sauté until softened (3-4 minutes).
  3. Push veggies to one side, add steak to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Mix steak with veggies, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Divide mixture among hoagie rolls, top with cheese or Cheez Whiz.
  6. Place under broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a sheet-pan version, spread ingredients on a baking sheet and broil for 5-7 minutes.
  • Slow-cooker variation: Cook steak, onions, and peppers on low for 6 hours, then assemble.
