A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender cabbage leaves stuffed with a savory mixture of ground beef and rice, baked in a rich tomato sauce.

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Boil cabbage for 5 minutes to soften leaves.
  3. Mix ground beef, rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Place a spoonful of mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
  5. Arrange rolls in a baking dish.
  6. Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice, then pour over rolls.
  7. Cover and bake for 1 hour.
  8. Uncover and bake for 15 more minutes.
