A classic Southern dessert with creamy sweet potato filling and a flaky crust.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 unbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix mashed sweet potatoes, sugars, and melted butter in a bowl.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Stir in evaporated milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes until set.
  7. Cool completely before serving.
