A comforting retro dish featuring juicy beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy, ready in 30 minutes. Perfect for weeknight dinners or freezer meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 4 oval patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, then remove.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms and onions until soft.
  5. Whisk cornstarch with water, then stir into beef broth.
  6. Pour broth mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  7. Return patties to the skillet and cook for 5 more minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles.
