Ingredients

Scale
  • FOR THE BLUE LAYER:
    • 3 ounce box blue Jello
    • 1½ cups water divided use
    • ½ cup vodka
  • FOR THE WHITE LAYER:
    • 2 packets unflavored gelatin .25 ounce size packets
    • 2 cups cold water
    • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • FOR THE RED LAYER:
    • 3 ounce box red Jello
    • 1½ cups water divided use
    • ½ cup vodka
  • FOR GARNISH:
    • 1½ cups whipped cream or whipped topping
    • ½ cup red white and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. FOR THE BLUE LAYER:
    1. Heat one cup of water until it’s boiling.
    2. Pour the boiling water into a bowl containing your blue Jello powder and whisk the mixture until the powder is completely dissolved.
    3. Pour in 1/2 cup cold water and whisk until combined.
    4. Pour in the vodka and whisk until thoroughly blended. Divide the Jello mixture evenly among 22 two-ounce shot cups, then chill for at least one hour.
  2. FOR THE WHITE LAYER:
    1. Place the cold water in a pan and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes.
    2. Transfer the pan to the stove and cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes until gelatin has melted.
    3. Remove the mixture from the heat, then whisk in the condensed milk.
    4. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes, then add a layer of white Jello on top of the blue Jello. You may have some white gelatin leftover, which you can pour into a bowl and chill separately for a snack!
    5. Chill for at least one hour.
  3. FOR THE RED LAYER:
    1. Heat one cup of water until it’s boiling.
    2. Pour the boiling water into a bowl containing your red Jello powder and whisk the mixture until the powder is completely dissolved.
    3. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes. Add a layer of red jello on top of the white jello in each cup. Chill for at least one hour, or until all layers are set.
  4. FOR GARNISH:
    1. Pipe or dollop a tablespoon of whipped cream onto each shot.
    2. Add some red white and blue sprinkles, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure each layer is set before adding the next color so the layers don’t run together.
  • Add the whipped cream and sprinkles right before serving.
  • Strawberry Jello is preferred, but cherry or other red flavors work too.
