Ingredients
Scale
1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
6 large eggs
1 cup of milk (or cream for a richer taste)
1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend)
1 cup of cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon (optional for a meaty touch)
1 cup of diced vegetables (like bell peppers, onions, or spinach)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter (for greasing the baking dish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or butter.
Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to fit the baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, then fold in the cheese, cooked sausage or bacon, and diced vegetables.
Lay one sheet of puff pastry in the greased baking dish, pour the filling over it, and fold the overhanging pastry over the filling. Top with the second sheet of puff pastry.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
Notes
Use fresh eggs for better flavor.
Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables and proteins.
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts.
