A budget-friendly and healthy alternative to beef burgers made with canned tuna. Perfect for grilling or air-frying, these patties hold together well and can be batch-cooked for the freezer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix tuna, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  4. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side in the skillet or air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  5. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped herbs.
  • Freeze uncooked patties between parchment paper for up to 3 months.
