Soft, fluffy breadsticks with garlic-butter topping, perfect for pasta night or parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter, for topping
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and olive oil. Stir until dough forms.
  3. Knead dough for 5 minutes until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll each into a breadstick shape.
  5. Place on a baking sheet. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  7. Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and salt. Brush over warm breadsticks.

Notes

  • For no-knead option, use a stand mixer with dough hook.
  • Keep breadsticks warm in a towel-lined basket.
  • Freeze extras and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes.
