A classic summer dessert featuring ripe fresh peaches topped with a golden biscuit crust. Perfect for potlucks or family gatherings.

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine peaches, sugar, water, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter to form a batter.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter over the peaches.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

  • Peel peaches easily by blanching in boiling water for 30 seconds, then transferring to ice water.
