- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine peaches, sugar, water, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Pour peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter to form a batter.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter over the peaches.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Peel peaches easily by blanching in boiling water for 30 seconds, then transferring to ice water.
