Homemade Peach Jam

A simple and delicious peach jam recipe with no added pectin, perfect for preserving summer peaches.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups peeled and chopped peaches
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sterilize your jars and lids by boiling them for 10 minutes.
  2. Combine peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pot.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens (about 20-25 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, bourbon, or chili flakes if using.
  5. Ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  6. Process jars in a water bath for 10 minutes.
  7. Let cool and check seals before storing.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm peaches for best results.
  • Adjust sugar to taste if peaches are very sweet.
  • For smoother jam, mash peaches with a potato masher.
