A simple, moist chocolate cake recipe perfect for any occasion. Made from scratch with rich cocoa powder, this one-bowl wonder is quick and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before serving.
