- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (optional)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Spread in a baking dish.
- Mix flour, oats (if using), brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle topping over apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Best served warm with vanilla ice cream.
- Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
