Crock Pot French Onion Meatballs

Tender meatballs simmered in a rich French onion sauce, made easy in your crock pot. Perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Shape into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Place sliced onions in the crock pot.
  4. Add meatballs on top of the onions.
  5. Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the meatballs.
  6. Sprinkle thyme on top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  8. Sprinkle cheese over the meatballs before serving.
