  • 4 cups cubed bread (day-old bread works best)

  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color for a pop of color)
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cream of mushroom soup.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, followed by the cooked sausage or bacon, diced vegetables, and cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  4. Bake for about 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
