- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar (for syrup)
- In a saucepan, combine blackberries, water, and 1/2 cup sugar. Bring to a boil.
- In a bowl, mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling blackberry mixture.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until dumplings are cooked through.
